Minnie Lee Causey

A celebration of life will be held for Minnie May 13, 2023 at 3 pm in the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel with Reverend Guy Causey officiating. The family will be gathering and accepting friends at 2 pm. Minnie will be laid to rest following the funeral services in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Minnie Lee Causey, known affectionately as Minnie, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 10, 2023, in Midland City, Alabama. Born on June 9, 1932, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Minnie lived a life marked by kindness, faith, and generosity.

Minnie was the beloved wife of the late Reverend Tommy Causey, with whom she shared a devoted partnership in life and ministry. Together, they raised three children: Rev. Guy (Terrie) Causey, Linda Gray, and Brenda (Tony) Cooper. Minnie's love extended beyond her immediate family to her cherished grandchildren: Guy (Chasity) Causey, Chris (Tiffany) Causey, Chad (Nicki) Causey, Joshua (Simone) Causey, Tommy Matthew (Dineen) Gray, Lena (Justin) Wilson, Alicia (Scott) Miller, and her late grandson Shawn Padgett. She was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren who brought joy and laughter to her life.

Minnie was the daughter of the late Claude William Hendrix and Minnie Hendrix. She was predeceased by three brothers and six sisters and is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Skelton. Minnie's strong family ties were a testament to her loving nature and her unwavering commitment to those she held dear.

Throughout her life, Minnie worked tirelessly within the Baptist church, supporting her husband's ministry and serving as a beacon of faith for her family and community. A true prayer warrior, she was known for her steadfast belief in the power of prayer and her willingness to intercede on behalf of others. Minnie's dedication to her faith was evident in her service to her church and her passion for ministering to others.

In addition to her spiritual pursuits, Minnie was an avid cook who took great pleasure in preparing meals for her family and friends. Her culinary skills were surpassed only by her love for those she served, as she generously shared her time and talents with those in need. Her spirit of hospitality and service was a reflection of her kind and generous heart.

Minnie's life can be best summed up by the words of Mother Teresa, who once said, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Minnie's legacy is not one of grand gestures or public accolades, but rather a life lived with quiet faith, unwavering devotion to her family, and a heart full of love for others.

In her passing, Minnie leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire and guide her family and all who knew her. As we remember her life and celebrate her memory, we are reminded of the profound impact she had on the lives of those she touched. Minnie's gentle spirit and unwavering faith will forever remain a shining example for us all.

Rest in peace, Momma, knowing that your love and faith have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were blessed to know you. Your kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to your family and faith will never be forgotten.
