Miriam Elizabeth Bergevin-Hayes, 77, a resident of Dothan, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 at Flowers Hospital.


Mrs. Hayes was born July 5, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to James Dalrymple Rankin and Mildred Virginia Cornell Rankin and lived the early years of her life in Sarasota, Florida. She later resided in Ohio, Vermont and New York. She attended the University of South Florida where she received her Bachelor’s Degree and Boston University where she received her Master’s degree. She has been a resident of Dothan for the past two years. Mrs. Hayes loved art and wrote books on Bible prophecy as well as two Christian joke books. She was a retired Methodist Minister.


In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a daughter, Elyse Ottendorth and her brother, James Rankin.


Survivors include her husband, Thomas Edward Hayes of Dothan; two children, Nathan Dickson of Hannacroix, NY and Rachel Hudson of Albany, NY; a sister, Virginia Troyer (Ronald) of Sarasota, FL; a brother, Robert Rankin (Darlene) of Sarasota, FL; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
