Miriam “Mit” Spence of Enterprise, Alabama passed away at her daughter’s residence on Friday, September 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  She was 87.  


A graveside service (casual dress) will be at Meadowlawn Cemetery on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Larry Doster officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise directing.   


Miriam was born on November 16, 1933 in Enterprise, Alabama to the late Daniel Murdock and Erin Chancey McInnis.  She was a longtime member of Lee Street Baptist Church.  She and her husband, Bill, owned and operated Quality Printing in Enterprise for over 30 years until their retirement in 1999. 


In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bill; stepdaughter, Vickie Jo Salter; and sister-in-law, Floy Curry. 


Left to cherish her sweet memory are her daughter, Jerri Blair (Steve) of Enterprise; son Jeff Spence (Shanna) of Enterprise; stepson, Terry Spence of Panama City Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Lindsey Adkison (Josh) of Brunswick, Georgia, Justin Spence of Enterprise, Tyler Spence of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Bradley Galligan, Korbin Galligan (Emma), and Mackenzie Spence, all of Enterprise, Shana Spence of Eufaula, Alabama, Blake Spence of Eufaula, Alabama, Angie Salter of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and  Gary Salter of Amarillo, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Josiann Galligan; brother, Donnie McInnis (Patricia) of Enterprise; nephews, Dale Curry (Sharon) of Acworth, Georgia, and Alex McInnis (Michelle) of Enterprise; niece, Donna Perrin (Kevin); and many beloved cousins. 


The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Mary Overall for the loving care and friendship she gave our mother.  The family also thanks Mary Goynes for her care as well as Kindred Hospice.  Thank you, Deborah and Charles Godfrey, for your generous support during her final days.
