Mirta Oliva Rios, 85, of Daleville passed away, Friday April 13, 2018 at a Florida Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 19, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Father Peter Wong officiating. The family will receive friends 4-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mirta was born in Havana, Cuba on February 21, 1933 and immigrated to the United States in 1971. She lived in Miami, Florida most of her life and was employed as a Pre-K teacher until her retirement in 1998. Mirta lived in Daleville since November of 2017. She loved music, playing piano, and was also a piano teacher. Mrs. Rios was also a ballet dancer and was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Frances Ortiz and her husband Robert Ortiz, and Oslavy Rios; her 3 grandchildren, Carlos Ortiz, Krystina Lyon and her husband Darrin, and Krystiana Ortiz; her great-grandchild, Desmond Lyon; her brother, Miguel Oliva; nieces and nephews, Rita Oliva, Mirta Duarte, Virginia Oliva, Clara Coria, Michael Oliva, and Juan Carlos Oliva.
