Mirtis Floyd, 88, passed away peacefully after an extended illness at her home in Dothan surrounded by family on Saturday, February 10, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Grady Russell and Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Flowers will be accepted.
She was a loving wife, adoring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking, going to church and spending time with her family. She was a woman who loved the Lord with all her heart and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Floyd and several siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Chalker (Dudley), granddaughter, Paula Givens (Danny), two great-grandchildren, Jerel Givens and Brianna Givens all of Dothan, sister Margie Campbell and brother Marvin Morris both of FL. and brother Billy Morris of Dothan.
A special thank you to Kindred Hospice for their many years of care.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Dudley Chalker, Danny Givens, Jerel Givens, David Jones, William Andrews and Larry McArdle.
