Miss Shirley Jean Peacock, a resident of Newton, Alabama, died Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the home of her sister in Cottonwood.  She was 70 years old.


Funeral services will be graveside 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.


Miss Peacock was born September 9, 1951 in Tokyo, Japan to the late Leon Holly Peacock and Edna Joyce Keel Peacock.  She graduated from Dale County High School in 1969 and worked with the City of Dothan as a computer operator.  Shirley was an avid reader and loved cats.


She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Rick McCleskey of Cottonwood, Alabama;  two nieces, Stephanie Smith (Kevin) of Rehobeth, Alabama and Donna Eldridge of Wellington, Colorado; two great nephews, Landen Smith and Tyler Smith both of Rehobeth.
