MITCHELL ALLEN JENKINS
SNELLVILLE, GA… Mitchell Allen Jenkins, a resident of Snellville, Georgia, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at his home. He was 71.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Joey Pettis officiating. A eulogy will be given by his nephew, Wayne Parmer. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Headland, Alabama. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Midland City, Alabama to the late John Jenkins and Rosie Nell Walding Jenkins. He attended Dale County High School. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After he was discharged out of the military, he returned home and worked with the family brick masonry business. He moved to Snellville, Georgia in the early 80’s to work with Flowers Baking Company as a route salesman. After several years, he sold his bread route and returned to his career that he always loved, which was masonry. He started his own company (Jenkins Masonry of Georgia, Inc.) and worked for several other companies in and around the Atlanta, Georgia area. He loved creating beautiful things with mortar, stones, and bricks. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a love for fishing.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Madison Michelle Strickland; his sisters, Martha Virginia Cunningham and Linda Jenkins; and his brothers, Dan Jenkins, James Jenkins, and Bobby Jenkins.
Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife, Loretta Harrison Jenkins; his daughters, Amy Kay Strickland (Tim), Emily Michelle Helms (Jake), and Brittany Elizabeth Roark (Brandon); his son, Mitchell Allen Jenkins, Jr (Rebekah); his sisters, Billie Ann Senn, Sonya Senn (Mack), and Debra Kowal (Jeffrey); his brother, David Jenkins (Karen); his sisters-in-law, Margaret Jenkins, Patricia Woodham and Pam Wright; his grandchildren, Savannah Kay Strickland, Timothy Dalton Strickland, Logan Douglas Strickland, Jacqueline Michelle Helms, Jacob Stewart Helms, Jayden Elizabeth Helms, Jared Mitchell Helms, Mitchell Allen Jenkins, III, Brody James Jenkins, Emerson Jane Jenkins, Brandon Austin Roark, Jr., and Levi Allen Roark; and his several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Mitchell Allen Jenkins, Jr., Mitchell Allen Jenkins, III, Timothy Douglas Strickland, Timothy Dalton Strickland, Logan Douglas Strickland, Jacob Stewart Helms, Jacob Stewart Helms II, Jared Mitchell Helms, and Brandon Austin Roark. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brody James Jenkins, Brandon Austin Roark, Jr., and Levi Allen Roark.
