DOTHAN, ALABAMA. . .Molly Sue Utsey, a resident of Dothan, passed away Wednesday morning, February 21, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. She was 94.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 24, 2024, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church, near Columbia, with Reverend Don Tew officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mrs. Utsey was born in Birmingham and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a graduate of Lee High School and attended Jacksonville University both in Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Utsey lived in Jacksonville, where she raised her family, before moving to Dothan in 1986. After moving to Dothan, she co-founded an Alzheimer’s chapter which later became Alzheimer’s Resource Center. Mrs. Utsey was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Therman Clyde Driver, her mother, Inez Cope Driver, husband, E. Mark Utsey, grandsons, Robert Terrence Bierbaum, III, James Clay Sellers, II, and a special friend, Gene Buonviri.
Surviving relatives include her daughters, Mitzi Kuntz (Bill), and Mona O’Connor (David), all Jacksonville, FL; and Molly Sellers (Clay), Columbia, AL; a son, Michael Wilkerson, Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Cameron Kuntz, John O’Connor (Lehia), Christine Grahame (Adam), Colby Sellers (Tanya), Cooper Sellers (Chelsey), Barclay Bowen (Scott) and Billy Kuntz (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Anastazya, Clementine, Chloe, Liahm, River, Chipper, Basil, Riley, Oliver, Reece, Chase, Palmer, Ellie, Dylan and Harbour.
