Morgan Britt Lee, of New Brockton, went to be with his Lord Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 1:00 a.m. He had been battling Parkinson’s and dementia for a number of years.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Kerry Mitchell and Rev. Don Downs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4 – 6 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted, or contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 1837 Hwy 51, Enterprise, AL 36330.
Britt was born in Houston County August 18, 1939, to the late Lucius and Vonnie Lee. He was a resident of Houston County for his younger years and graduated from Rehobeth High School. Most of his work life was in the grocery business, first with Winn Dixie, then with the commissary of Fort Rucker until his retirement in June 2002.
Mr. Lee was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church, Enterprise, serving as a deacon since 1978. Other service included teaching a class and serving as Sunday School Director for many years. He also served his community as a council member in New Brockton from 1988-1990, and as mayor of New Brockton 1996-2000.
Britt loved his family and friends, and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing, trips to Gatlinburg, TN and Branson, MO. He and his first wife, Pat, enjoyed sightseeing in Germany, Belgium, Holland, and France while he was assigned there with the commissary.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lucius and Vonnie Anderson Lee; beloved first wife, Patsy Long Lee; son, Jeff Lee; sister, Annie Glynn Brooks; two brothers: Bill Lee and Kenneth Lee.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Janie Lee; one son, Greg Lee and wife, Cindy; grandchildren: Brandon Lee and wife, Lara of Charlotte, NC, and Brittney Lee of Troy; step-children: Walt Jones and Brooke Wilson, both of Seattle, WA; step-grandchildren: China Jones of San Francisco, CA, Israel Jones and Max Jones, both of Hawaii; brother, M.M. Lee (Nellie) of Dothan; three sisters: Erma Nell Russell of Dothan, Sue Melhorn of Panama City, FL, and Sandra Sandlin of Panama City, FL.
