MIDLAND CITY. . .Moses Lee Creech, a resident of Midland City, died Sunday afternoon, March 21, 2021, at his home. He was 71.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Delvick McKay and Reverend Bobby Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Headland. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.
Moses Creech was born and reared in Dale County, near Midland City, son of the late J. T. Creech and Nolar Baker Creech. He lived several years in Headland but lived in Midland City most of his lifetime. Moses was a member of the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from Rebwood Manufacturing Company as a painter. He had also been employed by Golden Peanut Company and was currently employed by the Holman family in Headland. Moses was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Creech Coleman, a sister, Mertis Bennette and a brother, Curtis Kelley, Jr.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Gracie McClain Gray, Midland City; two sons, Brian Walker and Eugene Thomas, both of Dothan; three step-daughters, Beth Montgomery, Dothan; Tracy Montgomery, Enterprise, and Karen Blackmon, North Carolina; a sister, Hannah Hammonds, Midland City; a brother, J. Lee Creech, Midland City; eight grandchildren, Yolonda Creech, Demetris LaRue, Kewan Walker, Danesha Walker, Chrislyn Walker, Mya Walker, Zaveyon Thomas and Blescyn Franklin; eight great-grandchildren, Javi’Onia Creech, An’Zyia Creech, Mo’Zyiah Creech, Bryceon LaRue, Leighanna Karter, Kylar Walker, Colby Walker and Xavier Walker; several step-grandchildren, his former wife and mother of his deceased daughter, Osie Pearl Rogers, Headland; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Cynthia Hammonds.
