Mr. Adron Allen Nobles of Geneva passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham after an extended illness. He was 81. A service to celebrate Mr. Nobles’ life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Dr. Edwin E. Scott, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
Mr. Nobles was born in Jacks Creek, TN on June 14, 1936, to the late Thomas Shelbon and Zula Lea Holmes Nobles. He served as a sharpshooter in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Nobles worked as an office manager in the engineering department at Caterpillar Construction and Equipment Company for more than thirty years before retiring and moving to Geneva. Woodworking was a passion of his. Over the years, Mr. Nobles built many homes and made countless beautiful pieces of furniture, Christmas decorations and toys. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Shelbon Nobles; and two step-sons, Kevin Rutledge and Bobby Shoemaker.
He is survived by his wife, Cassie Nobles of Graceville, FL; daughter, Anissa Nobles Briley of Birmingham; step-children, Jimmie Rutledge (Debra) of Austin, TX, Chris Rutledge (Chrissy) of Bloomington, IL, Brandon Evans of Washington, IL, and Scott Shoemaker (Donna) of Geneva; sister, Alice Nobles Arn of Washington, IL; and a host of nieces and grandchildren.
