Mr. Alfred H. Searcy, age 87, a resident of Dothan, passed away, Monday, May 09, 2016.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, Enterprise, with Dr. Herbie Gannon officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday. A private interment will be held at Meadowlawn Cemetery, Enterprise. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Local Wounded Warrior, % Headland United Methodist Church, 103 King Street, Headland, AL 36345; St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; Boy Scouts of America, 6801 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36305; or the charity of your choice.
A 1951 graduate of Auburn, Mr. Searcy was born, December 9, 1928 in Enterprise and lived there until his move to Dothan with State Farm in 1974. He was formerly a member of Enterprise Lions Club and a deacon at First Baptist Church, Enterprise, and presently a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Dothan. Mr. Searcy was an Eagle Scout and extremely proud of his two sons, Chris and Mark, and grandsons, C.J. and Houston for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Polk and Lallie Searcy, his first wife and the mother of his children, Kathryn Jackson Searcy, his son, Mark Houston Searcy and his wife, Sara Searcy.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Becky Mallory Searcy; son, Dr. Chris J. Searcy (Doll) Selma, AL; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Griggs (Frank) Birmingham, AL; C.J. Searcy (Leah) Tuscaloosa, AL; Houston Searcy, Brookhaven, GA; Marc Tillis (Tish) Birmingham, AL; Jordan Snead, Portsmouth, VA; stepdaughters, Melise Jones, Sheffield, England; Kelly Shiver (James) Geneva, AL; son-in-law, Randy Tillis (Deborah) Ashford, AL.
