Mr. Alto Thomas Faircloth, age 89, a lifelong resident of Barbour County (Louisville, Baker Hill, Clayton), passed away Monday, May 6, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Emmanuel Baptist Church (154 Church St., Ariton) with Reverends Luke Westbrook and Keith Gann officiating. Burial will follow in the Louisville Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, May 8, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Glover Funeral Home (formerly Kent F.H.) in Clayton. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Cincinnati, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.
Mr. Faircloth was born on April 21, 1930, in Louisville the son of Christopher Hugh Faircloth and Flotilda Renfroe Faircloth. Mr. Faircloth was a lifelong farmer and worked as a butcher with Barbour Quick Freeze for a number of years. He retired in 1992 from the Barbour County Road Department. Mr. Faircloth was a member of Union Baptist Church in Clayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carolyn Virginia Greene Faircloth, two daughters, Caron Alece Faircloth and Sharon F. Westbrook, two sisters, Ruby Lee Baker and Lunie Jean Davis, three brothers, James Huey (Pete) Faircloth, Warren Faircloth, Andrew Clarence Faircloth, and a special honorary brother, Andrew Boyd Faircloth.
Survivors include the following: daughter, Carol Casey (Bruce), Ariton; three sons, Gerald Faircloth (Peggy Bowden), Thompson Station, TN.; Bobby Faircloth (Tracie McCool), Concord, N.C.; Ronald Faircloth (Sandra Gann), Laurel, Ms.; son-in-law, Donald Westbrook, Texasville; two sisters, Bertha Baker, Montgomery; Rebecca Houston, Clayton; ten grandchildren, Allen Cochran (Crystal), Melanie Faircloth Rosado (Joseph), Matthew Westbrook, Nathan Faircloth (Heather Hutto), Monica Hilburn (David), Joshua Westbrook (Mary Cox), John Thomas Faircloth, Luke Westbrook (Miranda Kennedy), Connor Casey and Thomas Ethan “Tuffy” Casey; eight great-grandchildren, Daulton Rosado, Dillon Rosado, Esabella Faircloth, Karson Faircloth, McKenzie Westbrook, Brinleigh Westbrook, Ryan Martin and Brittany Martin; two great-great grandchildren, Liam Rudd and Kynlee Mae Rosado(soon-to-be)
Active pallbearers will be Tuffy Casey, Nathan Faircloth, John Thomas Faircloth, Donald Westbrook, Douglas Faircloth and Stephen Ray.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Cochran, Matthew Westbrook and Joshua Westbrook
