Obituary: Mr. Angus G. Smith
Mr. Angus G. Smith of Hartford went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb. Burial will follow in the New Post Oak Assembly of God Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Mr. Smith was born November 16, 1931 in Holmes County FL to the late Otho Berl Smith, Sr. and Lois Hinson Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of New Post Oak Assembly of God Church. He recently attended Carmel Assembly of God Church in Bonifay. Angus was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, three sisters: June Smith, Mary Nell Smith and Thelma Smith Moss; a brother, O.B. Smith Jr. all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Kennedy Smith, Hartford; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan Smith, Dothan; seven grandchildren: Jordan Porter (Bobby), Trussville, Sydney Smith, Auburn, Ward Smith, Tuscaloosa, Landon Brazell (Keisha), Dothan, Adam Brazell (Alexis), Dothan, Taylor Adams, Dothan and Dallas Adams, Dothan; three great-grandchildren: Grace Brazell, Scarlet Ann Porter and Lennox Brazell; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry and Iris Smith of Bonifay, FL, Rev. Clyde and Jeanette Smith of Bonifay, FL, David and Candy Smith of Esto, FL; five sisters and two brothers-in-law: Bernice Berry of Esto, FL, Minnie Adkison, Myrtle Hendrix, Hartford, Bonnie and Larry Chitty of Hartford, Jane and Donnie Hidle of Slocomb; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Covenant Hospice for the love and care given to Angus during his illness.
