Bennie was born to the late Frankie and Fannie Mae Morris Glass on April 2, 1936 in Houston County, Alabama. He believed that hard work was his top priority. Bennie worked forty-two years with Smith’s Incorporated over seeing as job superintendent many major projects throughout the wiregrass such as Sony, Flowers Hospital, Southeast Health, Columbia Yeast Plant, and Northview High School, along with many others. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, gardening, quail hunting with his bird dogs, and crafting his famous grills. On Saturdays in the fall, he would root on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, “Roll Tide”. The spare time that was left, he would get lost in his music as he picked his guitar. Bennie loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church for many years. He was a loving husband to his wife of sixty-two years, Mary Glass, along with being a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
