Billy Mack Marshall, 85, of Gordon, Alabama, was called to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, June 5, 2016.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Dothan, Alabama with Reverend Scott Fulford officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordon, Alabama with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.

 

Serving as active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Justin Mitchell, Nick Nowell, Cole Mashburn, Andrew Marshall; and his two sons in law, Bill Mitchell, and Van Mashburn.

 

Although his formal education could not be completed because of his responsibilities on the family farm, Mr. Marshall never encountered a job or task that he couldn’t successfully complete. From farming to mechanics to construction, his self-taught skills matched and surpassed those of any professional craftsman. Outside of work, he always enjoyed fishing with his family and friends.

 

Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Marshall; his parents Raymond and Dora Marshall; and brothers, Willie Marshall, Charles Marshall.

 

Survivors include his son Sonny Marshall and his wife, Teresa; his daughters Crissie Mashburn and her husband Van, and Linda Mitchell and her husband Bill; two brothers, Ed Marshall and his wife Sarah, and Joe Marshall and his wife Trish; a sister, Becky Lewis; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one beloved pet, Angel.
