Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL

Mr. Billy Roger Heath, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Flowers Hospital. He was 82 years old.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Mike Whitman officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until service time.


Mr. Heath was born November 4, 1935 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Ralph and Jewel Pippin Heath.  He served in the United States Air Force.  Following his military service, Mr. Heath worked with Cameran Construction Company in Orlando, Florida for fifteen years. He then moved back to Ozark and began work with Heath Construction Company. He was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church and was baptized in his late 70’s.  He was a master woodworker, loved fishing and hunting, loved making homemade wine and loved his grandchildren and his dogs, Tia and Tilly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Willie Pearl Teal Heath; the mother of his children, Thyra Griggs Skelton; and two brothers, Bobby Heath and Jimmy Heath.


Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Heath Minton of Ozark, Tami Allen (Kendall) of Ozark, Sheryl Anderson of Cape Canaveral, Florida; one brother, Jackie Heath (Paula) of Ozark, and one sister-in-law, Nan Heath; eight grandchildren, Melani Gilmer of Ozark, Mandi O’Drobinak of Tifton, Georgia, Jared Peters of Ozark, Tiffany Page of Ozark, Brandy Baumgart of Omaha, Nebraska, Hallie Hobbs of Ankeny, Iowa, Michael Vogel of Ogden, Iowa, and Emilie Hess of Ankeny, Iowa.  Eighteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Attn: Tribute Department, St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
