SPRINGHILL COMMUNITY… Mr. Carl H. “Johnny” Johnson, a resident of the Springhill Community, near Troy (formerly of Ozark), died early Sunday morning in Dothan. He was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in Ozark First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Brian Presley officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ozark First Assembly of God Church, 170 Country Club Drive, Ozark, AL 36360 or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
Mr. Johnson, son of the late Harry William Johnson and Blanche Elizabeth Williams Johnson Doss, was a native of Roanoke, Virginia. Following high school, he joined the United States Air Force and met the love of his life in Panama City, Florida, Fran Adams Johnson, who preceded him in death. Mr. Johnson owned and operated Star Video in Ozark and was retired from Copter Pest Control. He enjoyed spending his free time in his wood shop working on various projects. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Ozark First Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Clyde Doss; two sisters, Maryann Dooley and Adelia Barbour; two brothers, Sonny Johnson and Archie Johnson.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Kim Sanders (Tully), Ozark; his son, Steve Johnson (Nicole), Grady, Alabama; two grandchildren, Catelyn Johnson (Ian Howe) and Cassidy Songer (Matt); his sister, Dreama Lockes (Harold), Roanoke, Virginia; a sister-in law, Carolyn Blanford (Dave), Springhill Community; two brothers-in-law, John Adams (Virginia) and Robert Adams (Connie), all of Panama City, FL; several nieces and nephews.
