Mr. Carlos Carroll Cannon of Ozark, Alabama, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was 80 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Cannon will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 11, 2023, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark Reverend Dr. Bill Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in Bells Crossroads Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
Born in Ozark, Alabama on August 26, 1943, he graduated from Carroll High School in 1961 and from George C. Wallace State Vocational Trade School. He retired with South Central Bell and AT&T after working for over 50 years. He was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Mr. Cannon was a generous and gentle husband and father with a heart of gold. He enjoyed Alabama football, the beach, and his beloved dog, Evee.
Carroll was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Cannon, Sr. and Grace Spurlock Cannon; his daughter, Megan Diane Cannon; his granddaughter, Sarah Brook Cannon; and his brothers, Ralph Cannon, Jr. and Andy Cannon.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Irene Bell Cannon and their children, Michael Darren Cannon (Cindy) and Dawn Cannon West (Nate). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Blake Cannon, Emma Leigh Cannon and Audrey Isabella West. Also, sister Brenda Cannon Morimoto (Warren), brother William Cannon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins, numerous in-laws and special caregiver, Simona Wrinn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bells Crossroads Cemetery, C/O Mr. John Bell, 8510 County Road 54, Skipperville, Alabama 36374.
