Carlton Baxley, a cherished member of the Houston County community, born on January 28, 1932, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama. His life was marked by a profound love for his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a legacy of service.
Carlton's early years were spent in the rural landscapes of Houston County, where he developed a deep appreciation for farming and nature that would last a lifetime. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country for four years in the United States Navy.
Carlton's creative spirit found expression in woodworking, He also reveled in the simple pleasures of fishing in Holmes Creek, where he would spend tranquil hours immersed in the beauty of the surroundings.
He is preceded in death by his parents Grady and Margaret Baxley and a brother Wade Baxley.
Above all, Carlton was a loving father and a devoted friend. He is survived by his daughter Kay Cook and her husband, Vince, and his best friend, Elouise Baxley.
There will be a private graveside for the family held at 10 A.M. Friday, August 23, 2024 at Taylor Assembly of God Cemetery.
