Mr. Cecil Clarence Hall of Webb passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016. He was 84.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2016. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice.
Mr. Hall was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. He served in the Korean War and saw combat with the 75th Field Artillery known as the Fighting 6 Bits where he earned the rank of Staff Sgt. He started with GTE in 1954 and retired in 1990.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Arthur Hall and Annie Hughes Hall, wife Opal Hall, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his children Sheila Merritt and her husband Dale, Michael Hall and his wife Tami, Sherri Wiggins and her husband Hasten, grandchildren Casey and Bethany Merritt, Gavin Hall, Grace and Walker Wiggins, sister-in-law Margie Cobb and her husband Don, and numerous nieces and nephews that had a special meaning to Mr. Hall.
The Enon Community held a special place in Mr. Hall’s heart.
May the family continue the legacy of strength and love he instilled in the Hall name.
Pallbearers will be Charles Ray McNeill, Joel Ray McNeill, Greg McNeill, Danny Metcalf, Richard Sapp, and Lamar Tindell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug McNeill and GTE Employees.
