Mr. Charles Edward Ausley of Dothan and formerly of Samson, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013. He was 65. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Minister Harry O. Adkison officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Dr., Ste. 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607-3421, www.myeloma.org
Mr. Ausley was born in Little Rock, Ark on September 19, 1947. He graduated from Samson High School, class of 1965. He later graduated from Troy State University. He was retired from ConAgra Poultry after 30 years of service. Charles was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching Auburn Football. He dearly loved his family and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hubert Ausley.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Jones Ausley of Dothan, son, Charles Anderson Ausley of Alpharetta, GA; daughter, Emily Ausley Waters; two grandchildren, Jacob and Davis Waters, all of Headland; mother, Ann W. Ausley; sister, Jane Ann Sanders (David) all of Samson.
