Obituary:  Mr. Charles Grady Salter


 


Mr. Charles Grady Salter of Malvern passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at his home.  He was 62.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the Slocomb City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.


Mr. Salter was born on January 16, 1951 in Coffee County to the late Bennie Collie and Alma Lamb Salter.


In addition to his parents, two sisters: Alice Metz and Ruth Salter; five brothers: Howard, Henry Douglas, Collie, Leslie and Carl Salter, Jr.; and one grandson, Hudson Darnell preceded him in death.


Survivors include his companion, Dorothy Kist, Malvern; two daughters: Brandy Green (Rick) and Jennifer Darnell (Michael) both of Dothan; three sisters: Doris Scott, Gant, Margaret Crocker, Chancellor and Ellen Stephens (Roger), Flat Creek; two brothers: Roy Salter (Shawn), Flat Creek and Marvin Salter (Sandra), Marl Community; two granddaughters: Courtney Davis and Caitlin Darnell; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
