Mr. Charles Samuel “Sammy” Turner, 76, of Ozark, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, in Dale Medical Center.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 2019, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Jim Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Ground Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.


Mr. Turner was born February 26, 1943 in Dale County to the late Ray Turner and Bernice Thompson Turner. He attended Carroll High School.  He began his body shop career with City Body and Fender and later worked with the body shop of Jerry Mitchell Chevrolet and South Union Garage. Sammy loved to go fishing, make crafts and work with his hands. He could make anything, he even quilted a quilt by hand. 


Survivors include one sister, Pam Turner of Ozark; two nephews, Josh (Whitney) Ward of Wicksburg, John (Heather) Formby of Montgomery; one niece, Jenifer (Joey) Gandy of Dothan; one great nephew, Cole Formby of Montgomery; two great nieces, Emma Gandy of Dothan and Avery Ward of Wicksburg; one uncle, Harold (Martha) Thompson of Ozark.  Several cousins also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Camp Ground Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3898 Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama  36360.
