NEWTON…Mr. Charlie Franklin “Buck” Sheffield, a resident of Newton, died Sunday evening, December 5, 2021, at his home. He was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 9, 2021, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dewayne Watson officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in Newton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, AFSP Alabama, 1034 Main Street #319, Gardendale, AL 35071
Mr. Sheffield, son of the late George Sheffield and Eileen Price, was a native of Ozark and has lived in Newton most of his lifetime. He was a 1964 Graduate of Dale County High School in Midland City. Mr. Sheffield was retired from Pemco as an aircraft mechanic. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from the Army Reserve. Mr. Sheffield enjoyed his time with the Daleville Senior Center, completing puzzles, fishing, University of Alabama Football, and very importantly, Dale County High School Warriors.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Tracy Sheffield (Leona), Dothan; three sons, Charlie Sheffield, Jr. Port St. Joe, FL, Joseph Sheffield, Newton, and Juston Senn; brother, George Sheffield, Jr. Enterprise; grandchildren, Joshua Colby Sheffield, Jodie Lowe (Keith), Nicole Wood (Bradley), JJ Hendrix (Erica), Holly Hendrix, Chase Hendrix, Alexis Gilley (Alyssa), Brittany Anderson (Riley), Katelyn Pope, Cayla Tyre (Parker) Brayden Senn, Kaylee Senn, and Bryson Senn; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
