MIDLAND CITY… Mr. Chester Chandler, a resident of Midland City, died late Monday evening, April 24, 2023, in a Dothan hospital. He was 62.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 28, 2023, in the Sanctuary of Praise Church in Midland City. Burial will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday at the church.


            Mr. Chandler, son of the late Mixon Chandler and Kathleen Bowman Chandler was a native and lifelong resident of Midland City. He was formerly employed in the well drilling industry. In later years, he began to work on small engines and became known as the “lawnmower man”. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Chandler.


            Surviving relatives include his daughter, Tabetha Chandler; three sons, Cordale Chandler,  Eddie Chandler, and  Nicholas Hopper (Taylor), all of  Kinsey; six sisters, Glenda Wilkerson, Shirley Folds, Judy Whitehead (Edward), Janice Chandler, Jenna Gail Buchanan (Ricky), and Buffy Chandler (Jose); two brothers, Delbert Chandler (Joyce) and Don Chandler(Tracy); six grandchildren, Bradley Morris, Johnny Boggs, Alexis Morris, Alayna Hall, Kameron Chandler, Tucker Chandler, Jordan and Dixie Hopper; five great grandchildren, Mason Boggs, Sophie Bowen, Everly Bowen, Joseph Bowen, and Xaivan Morris; nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Donnie Chandler, Ronnie Chandler, Tyler Buchanan, Kevin Gustafson, Randy Whitehead, and Trevor Segura.
