SKIPPERVILLE… Mr. Chris Gatlin, a resident of Skipperville, died Saturday morning, October 9, 2021, at his home. He was 38.


            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Rhema Baptist Church in Blue Springs, with Brother Bobby Long officiating. Burial will follow on the family farm in Skipperville. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church in Blue Springs.  Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.


            Chris was born October 5, 1983, and grew up in Wicksburg. He was a graduate of Wicksburg High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Chris was formerly employed with Enfinger Pest Control in Ozark. He was an avid University of Alabama Football Fan and enjoyed watching football regardless of the school. One of Chris’ most important things in his life, was his love for his Lord Jesus Christ. He was an active member of Rhema Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sullivan Gatlin.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Jennifer McCall Gatlin, Skipperville; father, Gerald Gatlin, Wicksburg; a sister, Jennifer Stephens (Brent), Wicksburg; two nieces, Ella and Anna Stephens; God children, Ray Hernandez and Rylan Avery.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Lucas Webb, Tony Reeder, Cade Webb, Tra Long, Ken Enfinger, C.J. Field, and Bobby Carpenter.
