Mr. Clayton Alter Tew of Rehobeth passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 68.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 ,at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Rod Cain officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, one hour prior to service. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Tew was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a DAV Chaplain of Dothan Chapter 87 and Marine Corps League. He served as High Priest in his church. In his spare time Mr. Tew loved working with his tools, watching old western movies, and attending military funerals as the DAV Chaplain.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Early and Quilla Tew, one sister; Mary Tew and 4 grandchildren; Colton, Cynthia, Christian, and Astin.
Surviors include his wife of 49 years, Elma Tew of Rehobeth; daughters, Altera Poppell and her husband Christopher of Chipley, FL; Alisha Rogers and her husband Cliff of Byron, GA; sons, Clayton Tew and his wife Laura of Tallahassee, FL ;Russell Tew and his wife Tammy of Winter Springs, FL; Jason Tew of Coleman, FL; Marcus Tew and wife Nidia of Tallahassee, FL; Zachary Tew and wife Megan of Newville, AL; Anthony Tew and wife Monica of El Paso, TX, brothers, James Tew and wife Elaine of Spring Hill, TN; Billy Tew and wife Marion of Hebron, MD; 19 Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

Family members will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
