It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clifford Hugh Hodge, Jr. of Dothan.

Hugh passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at his home, surrounded by family, after a brief illness. Born March 30, 1962 in Florala, Alabama to the late Clifford Hugh “Buddy Hodge Sr and Eva Norris Hodge. He was a native of Eufaula but spent the later years of his life in Dothan. Hugh loved fishing, hunting and tinkering with antique tractor and cars. He loved being outside and keeping busy was a jack of all trades, but most of all he loved his family. Hugh’s outgoing, compassionate personality never failed to create new friends for him along the way. Never one to turn away a friend in need, his door was always open to others. He was a compassionate, loving, family-oriented man. Hugh never one to miss the chance to have a good laugh and smile with family and friends. His never wavering faith in God brought him great comfort and peace in his final days.

Hugh is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Hugh “Buddy” Hodge Sr and Eva Norris Hodge of Eufaula, Alabama.

Survivors include his wife Beverly, son, Jeff Hodge, two daughters, Jessica Mathis (Quenton) and Topanga Mathis; sister, Marquitta Woodham, brother, Vernon “Chuck” Hodge; four grandchildren, Gabriella, Easton, Alysia and Sawyer Hodge, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. As well as the latest addition to his family, that stole his heart becoming her “Daddy”, Lydia Doty.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. When he left this earth the heavens gained a wonderful angel. To know him was to love him. He will be missed more than words could ever say.

No funeral or visitation will be held as per his wishes. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to; St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
