Mr. Clifton Eugene Parker, a resident of Ozark, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, January 15, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 96 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2021, at Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Woodham and Mrs. Michelle Reid officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to service time. All social distancing guidelines and mask are required.
Mr. Parker was born March 8,1924 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Steven D. Parker and Callie Maude Andrews Parker. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired with twenty years of service from the United States Air Force. Following his military service he worked with the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for over eighteen years. Mr. Parker was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, mother of his children, Lillian Morrow Parker, one sister, Frances Leddon, and one step-grandson, Danny R. Hill, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years Lugenia “Jeanie” Ammons Parker of Ozark; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Buddy Skelton of Ozark, Maulena and Brad Loyal of Ozark, Pamela and Larry Bach of Cairo, Georgia; one brother, Don Parker of Moultrie, Georgia; three step-daughters, Deretha Watson, Carolyn Steele (Richard), Jackie Conrad (Bob), all of Ozark. Nineteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren also survive.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Community Hospice, sitters and volunteers.
