Mr. Connie Ray Weeks of Weeks Lane, Westville, Florida passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013.  He was 76.


Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jonathan Sorensen officiating and Eric Stromenger delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continue until service time. 


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Disabled Veteran’s or The Wounded Warrior Project.


Mr. Weeks was born January 25, 1937, in Holmes County, Florida to the late Robert Leon and Mazie Agnes Stafford Weeks.  For 22 years he proudly served his county with the U.S. Army.  During his military career, while serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, along with several other medals and awards.  He enjoyed fishing and working in his vegetable garden.  He loved the outdoors and his garden so much you would see him out hoeing his garden in his wheel chair.  Mr. Weeks was of the Baptist faith.


Survivors include one sister, Margaret Woodall and one brother, Billy Weeks, both of Westville; several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
