Curtis is survived by his children, Robert Hinson (Susan) of Gloucester, VA, Gregory Scott Hinson (Lisa) of Freeport, FL, and Patricia Decote (Eliezer) of Aubrey, TX. He will be lovingly remembered by his eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Mae Jackson of Dothan, Barbara Deese (W. J.) of Cottonwood, and Gurtha Murphy of Dansbury, N. C. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Curtis is preceded in death by his son, Donald Hinson of Newport News, VA, and his sisters, Vernell Brookins, Sara Galloway, Johnnie McComb, Jean Conrad, Betty Branton, and his brothers, Truman Hinson and Dorman Hinson.
