Mr. Daniel Monroe Norris, age 83, a resident of Rehobeth died early Thursday, June 04, 2015 at Signature Health Care.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Rehobeth Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Johnson and Rev. Travis Free officiating. Family Graveside services will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery (Hwy. 431 North) with Kendall Glover directing.
Family will be receiving friends Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Rehobeth Baptist Church prior to services. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Norris was born on March 18, 1932 in Goshen the son of Rufus Monroe Norris and Dorothy Sunday Norris. He lived in the Dothan area for 55 years and was a self-employed Television Repairman. Mr. Norris served in the Army National Guard and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served on the Rehobeth Town Council for 18 years and was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Hughes.
Survivors include: wife, Bula Bea Norris, Rehobeth, AL.; 2 daughters, Donna Kay Reese (Anthony), Dadeville, AL. and Felicia Carol Hardy (Don), Rehobeth, AL.; son, Steve Norris (Vicki), Dothan, AL.; sister, Sybil Marshall, Albany, GA.; 2 brothers, James Ed Norris (Jean), Montgomery, AL. and Truman Norris (Shirley), TN.; 2 uncles, William Stewart Sunday (Barbara) and Charles Edward Sunday (Mary); 9 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be the Grandsons.
Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
