Mr. Daniel Paul Woodham, a resident of the Chalkhead Community of Ozark, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday afternoon May 23, 2023. He was 79 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Woodham will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Woodham officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family will receive friends in the church Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Mr. Woodham was born June 19, 1943 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Joseph Woodham and Gladys Tharpe Woodham. He was a 1961 graduate of Carroll High School and French’s Beauty School around 1963. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard. Daniel owned and operated his own beauty shop (Daniel’s Beauty Shoppe) from 1969 until 2020 when he retired.
Daniel was a long-time member of Chalkhead Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Director and Sunday School Teacher. He loved gardening, Skip-Bo, RummiKube, and was learning chess.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Lillian Smith Woodham; one sister, Annie Myrle Williams (Ed); one brother, David Woodham (Shirley); his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tommie Eston Baldwin (Fannie Pearl); his brother-in-law, Tommy Baldwin (Twila).
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Elaine Baldwin Woodham of Ozark; one daughter, Chellie Phillips (Jim) of Morland, Georgia; one son, Paul Woodham (Carol) of Ozark; one brother, Donald Woodham (Mingonette) of Ozark; he was Papa Dan to Brittany Alviz-Ericson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chalkhead Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
