Mr. Danny Bryant Barefoot, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, in Southeast Health Medical Center. He was 65 years old.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 10, 2021, in Memphis Baptist Church (4595 Eddins Road, Dothan, Alabama 36301) with Reverend Jim Tate and Reverend Mark Redmond officiating. Interment will follow in Memphis Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Mr. Barefoot was born August 8, 1956 in Ariton, Alabama to the late Carl Daniel Barefoot and Matred Sutton Barefoot. He attended Ariton High School and worked as a funeral assistant with Holman Funeral Home in Ozark. He owned and operated Tri-State Coatings Concrete Finishing Company in Dothan. Danny was a self-taught musician who played by ear. He had an awesome gift of piano playing. He was a member of the Jerry Skeen and The Starlighters Band, and most recently with Double Shot. Mr. Barefoot played piano for Bethel Assembly of God Church in Ariton, Memphis Baptist Church in Dothan and Hodgesville Baptist Church in Dothan. Danny was an avid gun collector and trader. He went to the gun range every Thursday. He was a member of the Memphis Baptist Church and was a beloved member of the Holman Funeral Home “Family”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Merita Diane Hall Barefoot.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Cannon Barefoot of Dothan; one daughter, Marcie Jenkins (Haston) of Dothan; one son, Daniel Hall Barefoot (Ashley) of Dothan; two step-daughters, Tiffany Thornton Cole and Laney Hatcher (Chris); grandchildren, Merideth Jenkins and Paxton Jenkins; great granddaughter, Arizona Jenkins; two step-grandsons, Randall Cole and Farron Hatcher; two brothers, Terrell Barefoot (Diane), Larry Barefoot (Jo Ann); nieces and nephews, Bebe Lloyd (Bill), Scotty Barefoot (Cyndi), Rusty Barefoot (Rhonda), Nicki Hamm (Matt), Bart Barefoot (Kim), Wendy Reynolds (Tony), and his special fur-babies, Luci-Lu and Lokie. Several great nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Memphis Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4595 Eddins Road, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
