Mr. David Lomax Sellers, a lifelong resident of Enterprise, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at his residence. He was 85.


Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Searcy’s Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Bro. Slade Stinson and Bro. Larry Doster officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery.


Mr. Sellers was born February 13, 1936 to the late Dave and Gladys Sellers. He was a graduate of Enterprise High School and served his country in the Army National Guard for 33 years, retiring as Sergeant Major in 1996. He had a long career as an aircraft inspector at Fort Rucker, retiring in 1999 after 43 ½ years of service.


He loved the Lord and cherished his family and friends. He is a lifelong member of Lee Street Baptist Church where he served willingly as deacon, leader of the intercessory prayer team, and to anyone the Lord placed in his path. He was a loving and thoughtful son, husband, father, grandfather and took joy in spending time with his family, serving the Lord, fishing at the lake, and working in his yard. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.


He is predeceased by his parents, his daughter, Carole Diane Sellers Price and his son-in-law, Robby Morgan.


Survivors include his wife of more than 66 years, Jo Anne Martin Sellers; two daughters, Sherry Morgan of Dothan and Teresa Thornton (Harvis) of Sylacauga; three grandsons, Sean Morgan (Shirah), Josh Thornton (Sha), and Christopher Thornton; four great-grandchildren, Eli Thornton, Elisha David Morgan, Eason Thornton, and Adalyn Diane Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.


Flowers will be accepted, or the family requests that contributions be made in memory of Lomax to Lee Street Baptist Church, 630 E. Lee St., Enterprise, AL 36330.
