BAGWELL’S CROSSROADS…Mr. David Stephen Strickland, a resident of the Bagwell’s Crossroads Community, near Ozark, died early Friday morning, March 8, 2024. He was 67.


            Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 11, 2024, in Chalkhead Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Woodham officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the church. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.


            Mr. Strickland, son of the late Charles Hugh Strickland and Doris Bagwell Strickland, was a native and lifelong resident of Bagwell’s Crossroads Community, near Ozark. He retired from Fort Rucker (now Fort Novosel) as a helicopter mechanic. Mr. Strickland was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church. He was an avid University of Alabama Fan and especially loved his feline babies with all his heart. Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by an infant son, Derrick Thomas Strickland.


            Surviving relatives include his daughter, Laurie Ann Strickland, Decatur, Alabama; his son, Darrell Strickland (Barbara), Ozark; his brother, Charles H. Strickland, Jr. (Jeanelle), Ozark; five grandchildren; mother of his children, Rebecca Ann Ferguson Strickland, Ozark.
