Mr. Deleon Adkins

Mr. Deleon Adkins of Coffee Springs went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2016.  He was 87.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise with Reverend Shirley Hatcher, Reverend Jack Gideon, and Reverend David Grantham officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pine Level Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m.

 

Mr. Adkins was born January 29, 1929, in Coffee County, to the late Ellis and Mary Jane Jacobs Adkins.  He was a member of Refuge Church.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Adkins, and a granddaughter, Courtney Mitchell.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy Nell Ennis Adkins of Enterprise; three children: Charlotte Register of Elba, Ennis Adkins (Rebecca) of Coffee Springs, and Jane Mosley of Coffee Springs; two sisters: Lavarel Pritchett of Albany, GA and Sara Gray of Hartford; 11 grandchildren: Amy Sudduth, Brandy Adkins, Christy Powell, Gregory Adkins, Stephen Knighten, Todd McKee, Bradley Adkins, Mandy Pearson, Cory McKee, Jaxsen Mosley, and Jordyn Mosley; five step-grandchildren: Chasity Cosper, Joseph Williams, Terri Shiver, Brian Register, and Bobby Register; numerous great-grandchildren.
