Mr. Dillard Mack Beasley, a resident of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, following a brief illness. He was 95 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Beasley will be 2:30 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2024 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Eric Fuller and Reverend Bill Hart officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark one hour prior to service time.
Mr. Beasley was born November 1, 1928, in Ariton, Alabama to the late George Osburn Beasley and Lillie McGill Beasley. He was a 1947 graduate of Ariton High School and was the last living member of his class. He attended Troy University. After 33 years of service, he retired from the CSX Railroad. Mr. Beasley was an avid New York Yankees and Alabama fan.
He was a member of Ozark Baptist Church since 1968.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Lillie Earline Peters Beasley, and his son-in-law Leverette Phillips. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Phillips and Diane Weed (Bill). He also is survived by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter to be born in July 2024; one sister-in-law, Sarah Byrd Cooper, and one brother-in-law, Horace Peters (Elizabeth), along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Community Hospice, especially Kathy Johnson. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made in his memory to Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to Community Hospice, 368 James Street, Ozark, Alabama.
