Donald Cedric Harper, 81, of Pansey, Al. went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon October 13, 2024.



Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, October 18, 2024 at Springhill Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Bryant Register, Reverend Otis Whitehouse, and Reverend Michael John Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 3 P.M. Friday, October 18, 2024.



He went to church on Sunday morning, came home and had lunch and watched “Gunsmoke.” As he was watching T.V., he looked up to heaven, raised his hands toward heaven as if to say “God, I am ready to be with you.” He gave his heart and soul to God many years ago. Cedric wants to see his family and friends in heaven. Are you ready to follow Him?



He was a longstanding member of Springhill Freewill Baptist Church.



He is preceded in death by his parents Russell Carroll and Doris Hicks Harper, and one brother Dwayne Harper.



He is survived by his loving wife Maxine Brady Harper, son Timothy Harper and his wife Via Pondevida Harper, granddaughter Kellee Smith and her husband Matt, grandsons Nathaneil and Gabriel Harper, two great-granddaughters Lillie Anna Lalia Rose Smith, brother Jody Harper, sister-in-law Peggy Brady and several nieces and nephews.



Pallbearers will be Carl Womack, Joshua Carr, Gene Womack, Jody Harper, Mark Fellows, Matt Smith, Tim Harper and James McSwane.
