OZARK…Mr. Donald James Burke, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday afternoon, February 24, 2023, in the emergency room of Dale Medical Center.  He was 48.


            Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matt Sasser officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.


            Mr. Burke was born November 26, 1974, in Hollywood, Florida and moved to Ozark in 2008. He owned and operated a landscaping business for thirty years. He enjoyed woodworking, taking his boat out fishing, yard work, and most of all his children and family. Mr. Burke served as a volunteer fireman for the Marley Mill Fire Department near Ozark. He was a member of the Ozark First Assembly of God Church, where he assisted Pastor Matt with Royal Rangers. Mr. Burke was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Gayle Burke; a sister, Tammy Lynn Burke.


            Surviving relatives include his children, Annistyn Reese Burke and Daxton Prynce Burke; mother of his children, Amy Tharpe; his father, James Burke, Jr.; two sisters, Lisa Marie Cook (Ricky) and Sherrie Burke; nieces, Brandi Cook (Gail Raye), Brittani Cook, Kelli Cook (Makayla), Amy Bavaro (Jonathan); a great-nephew, Graham Allen Cook; nieces and nephews.
