Mr. Donell Morrison a resident of Cottonwood, age 86, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017, at his residence, following an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at Glover Funeral Home’s Chapel.  Flowers will be accepted.


Mr. Morrison was born on March 24, 1931 in Webb to the late Claudie E. and Argie Clower Morrison.  He attended Webb High School.  Mr. Morrison was employed at Colonial Bakery for over 40 years and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. 


He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Merle Jenkins and a brother Vernon Morrison.


Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ruby Tedder Morrison; sons Donald (Lorrie) Morrison of Dothan and Randy (Lynn) Morrison of Cottonwood; 3 grandchildren Kane (Nicole) Morrison of Buena Vista, GA; Kendall (Doug) Thornton of Dothan; Erica (Jordan) Chailland of Cottonwood; 5 great grandchildren Landon and Reagan Morrison of Buena Vista, GA; Will and Sam Thornton of Dothan; Kassie Chailland of Cottonwood; a brother James and Edna Morrison of Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.


Honorary pallbearers will be the 1953 class of Cottonwood High School. The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Home Health and Hospice for their compassion and care.
