Douglas Lewis “Milo” Crawford, a resident of Ashford, Alabama died Monday, October 24, 2022, at Southeast Health surrounded by his loving family. He was 62.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church with Wallace Reynolds and Pastor John Calhoun officiating.


Mr. Crawford was born on December 30, 1959, in the Wiregrass area. He retired after 37 years as a truck driver with SAIA Motor Freight. Doug always exhibited superior truck driving skills and was awarded the Highway Hero award. Though he was a career truck driver, farming was his passion. When he wasn’t driving, you could always find him in the field playing in the dirt. Doug was married to the love of his life for 42 years, Wendy Peterson Crawford. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.


He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Earl Crawford.


Survivors include his loving wife; his mother, Nellie Kirkpatrick; a son, Warren Crawford (Rebekah); two brothers; Donnie Crawford (Susan), and Dexter Crawford (Cheryl); a sister, Amanda Pitts (Dale); two grandchildren, Aidan Cleveland, and Clara Grace Crawford; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
