Mr. Dudley Don Wilkinson, age 91, a resident of Dothan died early Wednesday September 17, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Troy West officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery (Hwy. 431 North) with Kendall Glover directing.
The family will be receiving friends at Glover Funeral Home on Friday from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. prior to services. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
Mr. Wilkinson was born on January 24, 1923 in Barbour County the son of Hazey Haisten Wilkinson and Leila Deese Wilkinson. He was retired owner of D.D. Wilkinson Trucking Company and had been a resident of Dothan for the past 66 years. At the age of 12 his father died and Mr. Wilkinson became the father figure for his six siblings, the youngest of which was six weeks old. He was known as a hard working man and a true friend to all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Maurice Campbell Wilkinson; 2 sisters, Daphne Davis and Lualyce Wilkinson; 3 brothers, Lunnie, Pat and Saxon Wilkinson.
Survivors include: daughter, Dede Wilkinson Adair, Albany, GA.; Son, Hazey Wilkinson (Anita), Dothan; brother, Delane Wilkinson, (Joanne) Haines City, FL.; 3 grandchildren, Michelle Wilkinson, Wendy Coppock (Craig) and Amber Bentley (Kenley); 3 great-grandchildren, Mary Katherine Coppock, Meredith A. Coppock and Reed Bentley; special nephew, Alex Wilkinson; and special friend & companion, Linda Danford.
Pallbearers will be: Rhett Davis, Scott Wilkinson, Steve Wilkinson, Dr. David Wilkinson, Mike Wilkinson and Will Crenshaw.
Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
