Mr. Earl Hobbs of Dothan passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the age of 75.
Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Gardens of Memory with Reverend Michael Senn officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
Earl was born December 25, 1945 to Willie E. Hobbs & Sammie Mae Nolan-Henderson Hobbs in Dothan, AL.
Earl served in the US Navy and Army National Guard. He also worked as a machinist/welder at Twitchell in Dothan, retiring after 45 plus years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Faye Kelley Hobbs of Summerville, SC. Earl’s lifelong friend and Naval ship-mate Johnny Dean Kelley brought him to meet the family while home on leave a couple of times. He and Faye fell head over heels in love and married a few months after her 16th birthday.
He is also survived by daughter Lisa Hobbs-White Johnson (Larry) of Headland, AL, sons Johnnie Earle Hobbs (Heather), Jason Alan Hobbs (Denise) both of Dothan, AL., grandchildren, Ashley White Chancey (Adam) of Newton, AL, Tyler Johnson (Madison) of Lake Alford, FL, Kyle Johnson of Dothan, AL, Tiffanei Bush (Elijah) of Panama City, FL, Brandon Hobbs (Maleah) of Dothan, AL, and Kacei Hobbs of Dothan, AL, and seven great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy, brothers, Willie Edward Hobbs (Jean) and Phillip Hobbs, both of Dothan, AL, sisters, Margaret Jean Lee of Dothan, AL, Jo Ann Godwin of Pelham, GA and Linda Harrell of Vada, GA.
He is predeceased by parents, Willie E. and Sammie Mae Hobbs, brothers, Arthur Hobbs, Winton Hobbs & Billie Sam Hobbs, sister, Bettie Bigbee and twin sister Earline Burton.
