AUBURN…Mr. Earl Quitman Rogers, Jr. a resident of Auburn (formerly of Ozark), died Friday, January 12, 2024, in the East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matt Sasser officiating. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 P.M. (ET), Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Rogers was born December 2, 1955, in Helena, Arkansas and moved to Ozark thirty- five years ago. He worked at Fort Rucker for over thirty years in the Recycling department. Mr. Rogers was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He enjoyed listening to Elvis's music, watching Alabama football, his dog, Gracie, and watching his favorite shows on television such as Andy Griffith and Gunsmoke. Mr. Rogers was a family man who loved his wife of thirteen years, his children, and mother. One of his personality traits was that he was a loving man and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Quitman Rogers, Sr and a sister, Julia Robinson.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Carol McVay Rogers; a daughter, Lisa Ross (Johnnie), all of Auburn; his son, Dale Carrier (Andrea), New Mexico; mother, Lucille Rogers; sisters, Janie Dickerson (George), Ozark, Debra Tapia, Ozark, Brenda Morales, and Tina German (Richard), Dothan; special niece, Susan Denise Humburg (Chris); brother, Ricky Reynolds; one granddaughter; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
