Mr. E.C. “Tom” Thompson of Dothan passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017. He was 84.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2017, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Elks National Foundation.

Mr. Thompson was a member of Denton Road United Methodist Church. He was an active member of the Elks serving as past Exalted Ruler for 3 terms, past District Deputy and past State President.

He is preceded in death by his wife Opal Thompson.

Survivors include daughter Marsha Rhinehart, son James Rhinehart, sister Barbara Short, brothers Gerald Thompson, Devaughn Thompson, grandson Major Robert Allen and many nieces and nephews.
