MIDLAND CITY… Mr. Eddie Roy Pope, Jr., a resident of Midland City, died Friday, May 12, 2023. He was 55.

            In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Pope was born May 13, 1967, in Dothan, Alabama and lived most of his lifetime in Midland City. He was employed as a welder in Mobile and held several certifications including, welding, plumbing electrical, and masonry. Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Roy Pope, Sr.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Peggy Grimes Pope, Headland; four children, Nathan Pope, Midland City, Shannon P. Bailey (Aaron), Headland, Madison Pope and Paxton Pope, both of Bainbridge, Georgia; his mother, Doris McDonald Pope, Midland City; two sisters, Lori Pope Chandler (Elmer Watson), Newton and Elaine Pope German (Rodney), Midland City; a brother, William Paul Pope (Teresa), Midland City; a grandson, Charlie Jayson Casper; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
