Mr. Edmond Cortez Baker, age 86, of Dothan, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2014.
Born March 20, 1929 in Enterprise, Alabama to the late William and Lota Carr Baker, Mr. Baker was a member of Rainbow Meadows Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Navy, having served his country from 1948 until 1972. He then retired from GE having worked with the company from 1978 until 1991. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandkids, and his great-grandkids and travelling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen McDowell Baker; his second wife, Doris Rolefs Baker; and his brothers, Harry Baker, Stanley Baker, and William Baker, Jr.
Survivors include his daughters, Carol (Bob) Wallace and Maxine Hanson; his son, Ted (Annette) Baker; his sister, Betty Benton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Monday, September 21, 2015 at the funeral home.
The family will be receiving flowers or contributions may be made to Rainbow Meadows Baptist Church.
