Edward Raymond Pike, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was 73.
Celebration of Life services for Mr. Pike will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Vaughn Forest Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: fredskids.org (an orphanage in Kenya that Mr. Pike supported), The Salvation Army or Montgomery Area Food Bank.
Mr. Pike was born in Birmingham, Alabama May 1, 1944 to the late Edward Raymond Pike and Dorothy Matlock Pike. He moved to Memphis, Tennessee at an early age and graduated from Messick High School and later from Auburn University. Mr. Pike worked for IBM and retired after 25 years of service and then became a consultant for Mainline Information Systems. He was a member of Vaughn Forest Baptist Church and the Chuck Latham Sunday School class. Mr. Pike was a member of the RAMM Club where he was an avid radio controlled airplane pilot.
Mr. Pike is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas Earl Pike.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia H. Pike, Montgomery; two daughters, Kristine and Alton, III Sizemore, Birmingham, Melanie and Chris Nicholls, Dothan; grandchildren, Mary Catherine and Daniel Sizemore, Nathan, Will and Andrew Nicholls. Mr. Pike has many friends that also survive him such as the State of Alabama employees, especially in the Department of Transportation and the RAMM Club members.
